>>2413739>It's one of the most noxious weeds there is.Eh I'm not borthered by it existing. As I said it's free ground cover for areas where I collect some biomass, the fact it takes a week to fully cover the ground and no seeding is convenient in that case.
But on the other hand if I'm trying to plant something into it, like my buckwheat, then it get shaded out quite fast and I couldn't have done the simple cop/drop/seed method I did.
I'm guessing the way I was supposed to do it was early in the spring before other things get going already have winter rye growing to suppress things.
Then plant buckwheat into the rye 2 weeks before harvest.
Then harvest and drop the rye straw and have the buck shoots come up.
Keeping things suppressed and growing should keep the suckers out.
I imagine 1 year of early spring weeding and suppressing should get the situation under control, but I started too late and the weed is not starch deprived to suppress so easily now.
