>>1939229Don’t post grip and grins on here anymore for anon sake but this is where I was in western Kansas earlier this season. Missed a shot because I made a stupid mistake with my muzzleloader but when I say big country were talking miles and miles of absolutely fucking nobody.
>>1939264I drive my truck out to the bigger public land spots I know aren’t beat to shit by other hunters. I pretty much always find a trail, ranch road, oil well maintenance road, etc thats closed to public vehicles and ride my bike as far in towards the center of the plot as possible. Most hunters won’t go more than a mile or two from from their truck in country that empty. I ride until I run out of trail or find a good tall hill to glass from as far from public access roads as possible. Work my way around depending on wind conditions and terrain. I have big fucking saddlebags and a backpack so I can typically quarter out a deer and get it back to my truck in two or three trips. That can be a big deal especially later in the year when daylight hours get short. Its a bitch and a half honestly. Minimum 5 hour drive from my place to campground. Usually 45 mins to an hour from nearest campground or hotel to hunting spot. Minimum 3-4 mile bike ride from road. Shit load of humping a pack up and down hills until you spot something. Stalking itself can be as easy as walking down hill in a covered drainage or belly crawling all the way around one so the wind won’t fuck you. Field dressing and quartering. Pack out to trail. Then bike ride back to the truck with repeat trips depending on how much meat I have to go back for. The two wheeled larpcycle may not look cool but fuck if it doesn’t make an extremely difficult task moderately easier.
