If your winters are cold and harsh, you’ll want to research better overwintering methods like adding an insulation box, or if you live in a warmer climate then you’d want to make sure your hives can cool themselves efficiently. If your bees are “bearding” to try and cool off the hive, they are not actively foraging nectar and pollen.
