In places like Spain you have plenty of abandoned villages with nothing wrong with them except for there being fuck all to do. They're often quite pretty as well.
There's supposed to be thousands of them, and people have been buying whole villages and settling some kind of community there. I've heard of a few 'eco villages' and even some kind of lesbian commune.
