I have a pair of all leather 3/4 shank hikers by Lowa that work very well. If you've never tried leather boots before (no membrane) it can take a few tries to wax them properly, but once you get the hang of it they're incredibly waterproof.
For anything beyond 3rd class or glacier travel, I'll bring a pair of approach shoes (5.10 Guide Tennie) or my La Sportiva Trangos (pic related) which can take a rigid crampon.
