>>2481249I never thought about the inhalation aspect of these abandoned sites, it feels like that stuff would just "dissappear" or something and masks are for LARP or something.
I have a nearby site built straight into a mountain that used to be an ammunition factory during the early 1900s and an electronics factory or something in the later mid-1900s, until it was closed and abandoned during the 70s sometime, naturally punks and youths have gone through it many times over the years, so it's mostly just broken shit, alcohol bottles and cans inside and graffiti everywhere, but some stuff that's either too heavy or fastened has been left untouched, some machines and the like.
Seeing this thread makes me want to go there, but it's really terrifying heading in there, especially alone. Think the descriptions of tunnels in Metro 2033, but .. yeah, irl.
You head in and it's so pitch dark that nothing exists outside of your light, and if your light goes out you are essentially trapped. It doesn't go very deep, but it would probably take 30-90 minutes to get out without a light if you lost it anywhere in there, probably half a day if you were at the deepest part. Only times I went there before I mapped it out, pic related, (poorly, not in proper scale) and always had 2 lights on me, just in case..
