>>1630485Not much really, it's baby's first thru hike. As long as you aren't brain dead you've got as much of a chance of finishing at the next person. But here are my top tips
>Save up more money than you think you'll need. >It will be very boring at times, get ready for that aspect.>It will be crowded, get ready for that.>The most common reasons people quit are injury, boredom, running out of money, and unexpected personal/family events. Be ready for these.>If you feel like quitting take a couple of days off, then hike for another week, even if you hate it. If you don't change your mind during this week then go home. Quitting isn't a big deal, just give it a lot of though before hand. If in doubt take a day off, get a motel room, and eat some good food.Beyond that I strongly suggest you look at some of the other awesome and less crowded hikes in the US. Long doesn't = good. The really long trails just connect the good bits with boring bits. If you have the time and the money to attempt an AT thru hike then seriously consider just hiking a series of shorter trails. You can hike >2000 miles, just think about dividing that distance up over different places.
Pic realted, me after finishing my thru on day 101. Would have been 100 days but the day before just stormed all day and I didn't hike all the way to not get a view.
