It's been a while since I gave an update. I've been snowed in and injured, so I couldn't get out and plant when I wanted to. Now I can plant, finally.
The nights here are getting warmer and daytime temps in the polytunnel are over 100F. No more maple syrup making and I need to take a layer of plastic off the polytunnel. I'll be checking the temps, but I think the weather is getting warmer over all, even if there's a bit of snow still to come.
I planted kale, lettuce mix, and Swiss chard so far. I have more leafy greens left to plant and I want to plant a lot of carrots. The garlic in the tunnel has been doing well despite the neglect on my part, being unable to get out and water it (watered 2 times in 5 weeks lol) Hence the massive chunks of hard soil (from a pigpen). But, everything is fine now. I already have kale sprouting up and it's only the 4th day after planting.
Here's pics I took today. That's just a sandwich bag taped over the viewing hole. Before, when 2 pieces of plastic was on, the bag was inflated with air to seal the second hole.
I'm hoping that all my beds will be full and have polytunnels over them next winter all full of crops.
