>>814961When Im fishing for Flathead I prefer live bait. Flathead are voracious predators and seem to like the activity although in spring they seem to like cutbait just as much. I use about a two foot leader, barrel swivel and three ounce weight. After I cast the bait out and let it sink to the bottom I will reel the bait up to the weight, then engage the clicker. I use Shakespeare Arsenal reels and the clicker on them is strong enough to hold a sunfish in place but weak enough to let out line from a bite.
