Tbh I'm not really in Minho ou Trás-os-Montes and the tallest "mountain" near me is only ~1100m so I often have to drive to get to better /out/. That said driving 100km to Gerês is not too bad, last summer I did Travessia das Serras da Peneda e do Soajo, it's some of the best /out/ I have experienced in the country, that said it's incredible how poorly marked it is, at least it wasn't burned to the ground like many other areas.
Do you hike and camp mostly or do you fish, hunt and do other things too?
