>>343686This makes me so sad to read, mulberries and service berries are among my favorite wild fruits. Partially because they're so plentiful you can really gorge on them but they're also delicious. Mulberry is also my favorite tree.
I only recently discovered that the young shoots and leaves of mulberry are also edible and delicious, now I'm in heaven. They grow so vigorously and are so numerous that it's like I have as much free asparagus as I could possibly eat.
This year my exciting discovery has been salsify, which I had never even heard of until I was out on an early walk and noticed how beautiful the flowers were (they close by about 10 am here) and went to look it up. Now I'm just waiting for them to mature.
