>>1706889What's it like living in Alaska? Where are the best (cheaper, safe, beautiful nature) places to live? My plan is to get a green card and move there in about 3-5 years after saving some money and getting some form of diploma or something to help find a job (I'd like to be a park ranger but must wait till i'm a citizen). I was looking at North Pole as it seems like a fairly small town and it's right next to Fairbanks but looking at daily -24*c weather every day in Winter seems bonkers. (I'm Australian so I can imagine 40*c weather for an Alaskan would probably seem crazy too). I think i'd be able to tough it out eventually after being there for a bit but i'd like to know if there are some equally nicer places further south.
I've been asking around in /trv/ and /int/ before but I don't know which board has the most Alaskan anons.
Thank you!
