There's just no wilderness in my part of Europe. My city is actually surrounded by forests so that's nice, but you're never further away than 3km from the edge of the forest.
At least our forests, while still mostly managed forests, are farmed reasonably sparingly due to their hilly nature - 99% of forests in my country look like picture related instead.
Open space outside of cities is all farmed fields. Not even pastures for the most part. We do some mountains and some decent rivers and lakes but that's about it.
