I wear pic related as my winter coat. It's comfy as fuck, and I've used it as a McGyvered sleeping bag when I was /out/ as late as November, though I wouldn't recommend it.
That aside, my usual winter setup consists of a good pair of boots, a set of long merino wool underwear for upper body and legs, merino wool tube scarf for neck and/or face, depending on weather and temperature, and my old army socks and winter gloves, which are both decent quality. The socks in particular are actually pretty good.
Pants are same brand as jacket, because I'm nothing if not a brand whore, but not specifically winter clothing.
This time of year, I'll usually wear a lumberjack shirt with a plain, synthetic T-shirt underneath, same pants, boots and socks, and the merino wool stuff, a wool hat and gloves as appropriate.
Summer I do shorts and a T-shirt, maybe ditch the boots for regular shoes or sandals depending on what I'm doing.
It's a pretty decent rounded set-up, but it cost me a shitton. Good quality, though.
