The last work van I had was an old refrigerator unit and had some thick insulation all in the back and was finished in what looked like fibreglass. I can always remember how cool that van seemed and how good it was at keeping ice in a cool box for Rum and Ting on camping trips. Well I’ve been thinking of doing a van build recently to live in full time and as I work on bathroom/Wetroom installs as my job it occurred to me that using something like the Wedi showerboards for construction would save a shit load on time while building and in overall weight to the build also it could all be waterproofed and it would be easy to fit a Wetroom shower tray former in the floor for washdown in the van. Wedi boards are basically some kind of high density foam with a cement based covering on both sides, they come in different thicknesses from 6mm up and preformed shapes for box shelving and curved panels.
Thoughts on Wedi type boards?
