Well is it great lakes trout or river/stream trout?
If its the great lakes, a little cleo in silver and blue or silver and green has always worked for me, or a lead sinler and a egg sack.
If its a river/stream i recommend waders. Either hip or chest. Wading upstream and casting into deep holes, along steap banks, and under every single log. Youll get snagged, you'll get frustrated, but you will catch more fish.
I run an ugly stick with 8 pound braided suffix on a Abu Garcia reel and a 3/8 or 1/2 oz spinner.
Best colors: all gold, panther Martin classic, all silver, all black, and all white(rooster tail.) Gold and classic PM are my go too.
Lastly. Worm dunking.
A cane pole, some line, a hook a sinker and a work and a deep pool. Ive hammered trout with worms, grasshoppers or crikets.
Good luck mate.
