>>2348968Some have removed that. I like it, because it helps your ankle lift. I wear heavy 80% wool socks and don't have an issue with that.
I think the best solution is to treat these like a jungle boot or something that is fast drying. That means sticking with the suede with the vent holes. I am using mine with rocky goretex socks as I was recommended a fast drying boot with these to achieve a good level of water resistance as it wicks sweat better closer to your boot than a boot liner and dries quickly as well. I have tried other water resistant socks with mixed success.
The width on these are really good.
I believe the heel lift is about 2-3 mm on these, but you don't notice it.
Standard size is already pretty wide.
It's glue so again, have the bond handy.
*Vivobarefoot with their newer michelin outsoles. I had a pair of skate shoes that used michelin soles and the outsole lasted longer than any of my old pairs. I can't say Vivo's will last longer. A common complaint with Vivo's though has been their shoes delaminating; however, I think all their new models as you can see with RA/Gobi 3 are side stitched now, and can be used with their resoling service.
I love my Belleville's, but despite the model being 10 years old, I don't know if Belleville will ever trey to remedy their issues and Vivo has made some effort.
Despite their expense too, you can find some 10-20% youtube or other discounts if you look around. The leather on Vivo's is really good. Takes conditioner well. They are comfortable for minimalist boots. The outsole has great tread but will pick crap up.
Great lacing system. I like using two socks during winter. Sized up, and these work great with the 7 inch boot version. Lowa Tibet is the best lacing design i've ever used, and this follows the design.
They don't bother me since I sized up, but they could be somewhat wider.
It's mostly unlined, so haven't had issues with it drying fast as it acts like a shell boot like Freet.
