As a local who grew up on the right edge of the atchafalya basin, there are a few things I can say about this the main one being the Louisiana is an awful state in most ways outside of partying and hunting
The first thing is and isn't very obvious, if you aren't a local, good fucking luck ever getting any decent hunting or fishing down here, all the best fishing holes and duck spots are taken by the locals in locations a non local and ever people from the near cities would ever think to look
The next thing is how completely ass our weather is, we have 3 seasons, too fucking hot, doesn't feel that bad, and bitter cold. I know we can't talk shit about northern cold, but when it's 28 100% humidity with 10 mph gusts on the water, that shit cuts through the best of thermal gear
As for the sportsman paradise deal, it 100% was, the past 20 years have kinda fell off, but with extremely lax federal involvement, and local police and wildlife officers not wanting to interfere, it made hunting the best in the US easily, just because of the variety

>birds, and pheasants
>snapping turtle catching
>best oyster farms in the US
>top tier frogging, it's rare to catch under 100 per person opening night

And that's just Southern Louisiana, I don't really know a whole lot about up there
Needless to say, while this state sucks and the weather is awful, and this was obviously a post to bait Louisianafags into crying that our state is better, There is no better state in the Union for sportsman
