I wanted an Izula, but then really wanted to see stuff in-store before buying. Unfortunately none of the big retailers around here sell Esees. One gun store had a couple but they were overpriced and the selection was thin.
Anyway CRKT has a bunch of small fixed blades in the $20-$40 range that aren't bad. I was looking at frame handled ones like the Izula that I could wrap myself or were already wrapped. CRKT has a Ruger knife like that, as well as another with a tanto blade. I think Gerber may have a paracord-wrapped frame knife too.
I ended up with the CRKT Spew which was nice and small for a fixed blade EDC. The handle looked more comfortable than the frame handles. The Minimalist is a tiny bit smaller, only run like $25, and come in 4 different blade styles.
