>>1824069Thanks Anon, Tim Poole is one of the main inspirations. Like him, I wouldn't be doing full time vanlife (Man's gotta keep a job to sustain said vanlife), just for mobility and range on hiking and sightseeing trips.
>>1824083 I already know that post-graduation I'll be commissioned in the Army Reserve due to my university's ROTC. Additionally I'm hoping that one good thing to come out of the Wuhan Virus outbreak is that more remote jobs will be available. If I can secure a truly remote job with my degree I'll have more than enough income to spend a year on the road (In between downtime and responsibilities at home) without burning up all my savings. I figure if I spend $10,000 building out a van when I'm finished I probably could sell the completed build for $15-20,000 to a retiree that doesn't want to build one themselves. If we're being serious about the vanlife thing, graduating and taking a year after college to do it, for me, would be the most realistic plan. However I fear If I don't do it soon, I'll get stuck in the day to day life of the 9-5 and will never do it.
