>>1713860Since no pme else is giving you good advice here, I'll just give an experience of mine. When I first started climbing, my friend and I went to a climbing gym and lied saying we know how to top rope belay. We practiced out of sight on a small wall and looked up how to tie ropes and all that. Everything went extremely well until I got distracted at one point. My friend fell 15 feet before I caught him. He was fine and we laughed it off, but everyone around us was mortified. He cpuld have easily died.
My advice to you is watch some videos, practice with some ropes if you can get your hands on them, and learn about some potential problems you make run into. Make sure you know what to do and what could happen before some even gets on the wall.
