Do you have a sturdy backpack? If not you may want to get one. Direct Action makes decent packs but I'm assuming you'll want something that holds more so I'd check out packs from Mexpedition or SpecOps Brand. Their Recon Ruck Ultra is a bit like a medium or large Alice pack and accepts both standard frames and LC-II ALICE pack frames. Their T.H.E. U.A.P. is a MOLLE covered 3-day bag and you can buy it in a bundle if you want extras such as a sheath to hold your flashlight/knife.

Buck has a "Camp Compadre" line you might want to look into. It consists of a camp knife, a "chopping froe" ( smaller, sturdy machete for clearing brush/batoning ) and axe/hatchet. They come with an anti-rust coating that holds up surprisingly well; it is a bright red you can use to signal your party too. Do yourself a favor and don't order off of Buck's website though; you can get them off of Walmart's website for much, much less in the same factory new condition.

Other than that get some thermal blankets, a good pancho, and whatever your company thinks you need.

So I'm thinking of buying a new outdoor pack from either Direct Action, Maxpedition, or SpecOps Brand. It got me wondering what brands/products you all use for your packs/sacks and what you avoid.

Image related; SpecOps Brand bundle ( that they call their E.O.D. kit for who knows why? ) that currently is what I'm most likely to purchase. Lifetime warranty on the bag, the bundle will cost a little under $300.00.

I was expecting a lot of "GTFO use a coleman stove" replies. Glad you enjoyed what I had to say.

I plan on getting the Toaks gasifer myself; simply because I can buy their pot/pan combo which actually can nest the stove and ( if I'm right ) two cups along with some sporks; one long-handled I'll be able to use while cooking. They are all titanium too so they'll be light and durable. It'll be nice to not be using a hobo-stove.

Granted before I buy that I actually need to buy a new pack. Thinking of going with the SpecOps Brand T.H.E. U.A.P. ( their 72 hour pack ) and you actually save a little money if you buy it in the bundle that comes with their belt/knife sheath/drop-in organizer. Pic related.
