Recently, I converted an old cooler into my mess kit. In it is my rocket stove, alcohol stove, halulite minimalist pot, denatured alcohol, some spices and a stirring spoon. Also included is some dish soap and vegetable oil and a titanium spork, which are in the front pouch of the cooler along with some salt and pepper packets and a scrub pad for the cast iron skillet I use.
The cooler works pretty good since I can just pull the hard liner tub out and use it as a wash basin. I only use this setup when I'm not going too far into the woods, maybe a few miles. Otherwise I'll just bring my single person pot and alcohol stove and some alcohol.
