This whole argument is about virtue signalling. You have to keep perverting terms like 'murder' means natural predation.
There is no 'loving animals' as a nebulous abstract. "Animals' is a general abstract for all life on earth that isnt plant or human. When people say they 'love animals' it doesnt mean they want a personal relationship with venomous snakes, spiders, pissed off bears and intestinal worms. Its a general statement about appreciating most creatures in nature, not a vow to renounce canine teeth and flee to the desert to live off cacti because you dont want to take living space away from chipmunks.
You may as well say you love mankind and then sit peacefully while humans attack you in war or crime. Love does not mean you prioritize something over your own survival or well being.
And virtue signalling is basically the self perpetuating tactic of attempting guilt and shame to persuade someone to do your bidding. Its an attempt to maliciously exploit a persons sense of decency.
A person can love their pets and still enjoy chicken for dinner. To propose irony as argument and that they cant really 'love' animals is a childish fraud. How can you reeeeeeeelly love your children if you dont always give them what they want.
"Loving animals" can mean an appreciation for creatures, or enjoyment of the company of some, or humility before the natural world, or innocent fascination with life. Its not a marital vow where you pledge to cede human advantage for survival out of some asinine need for a claim to moral superiority because you alone think eggs should never become omelettes and seek praise for extremism and absurdity.
