hey /out/, ex computer nerd here. I am shedding my indoor life as a homebody nerd to go /out/ into the wild. I used to go camping and fishing a lot when i was younger but my allergies have kept me inside fo most of my life. I havent taken any medication for my allergies so they have slowly gotten better over time and now I've taken a huge interest the outdoors. I live in mid to north Ontario Canada (near where Les Stroud built his self sufficient home for his documentary "off the grid") andI'm looking to start bow hunting, bow fishing and fishing. I'm also going to be growing a massive garden come spring on some property near where I live. Anyway all that aside I have absolutely NO outdoor gear for these upcoming adventures. Since Christmas is coming up, I plan on giving my family a list of gear to help me get started. I'm wondering what kind of jacket, backpack, knife, boots, blankets, and axes to ask for. Bare with me /out/ I'm pretty new to this, but the interest is there, i just need some guidance. Also any general advice would be great. I love canada and i'm looking forward to seeing more of it
