Hey anons. Just got myself a season pass for skiing at a resort in Colorado which includes 3-day free passes in about 10 different locations around Colorado and Utah. I'll have a month of between the last 2 weeks of Jan-Feb and plan on going on an epic ski holiday.
However, it's going to ass freezing col and I'm too poor to pay for hotels and would like to either digging snow-pits I can cover with a tarp at night for insulation or just sleep in my car on top of a foam mattress cover. Either way I'm going to need a good sleeping bag for the deep cold.
Any suggestions?
Budget: Maxed out at $150 but maybe more if there's a really good option.
Weight: Not really an issue but less than 8 lbs would be nice.
Waterproof: Extra points (I'd like to use this bag for XC Ski expeditions someday) but not necessary.
Temperatures: Likely down to the low single digits (Fahrenheit) with possible nights of -0 degree extremes.
P.S. Is this plan insane?
