>>923819You won't need a torch. The proper wire is spring tempered stainless steel wire (music wire). For lure body work I'd use 0.031" to 0.045" diameter. You can't anneal it & harden it again (because it is normally 302 SS) and working it too much will anneal it. It will murder any side cutters you try to use on it. Use a Dremel disc to cut it if you don't have any bypass cutters rated for spring hard wire that size. You'll need to wear goggles the entire time you work with the wire, not just when cutting it. You can source it at some lure making places/websites or from music wire dealers and industrial outlets. It is like $35-$45 per pound (180' to 400' long), so check out the lure making websites and music outlets first for shorter lengths.
