I've never 'trained' for my cycling rides.
>start riding
>don't push yourself to the limit
The routine is the same regardless of your cycling aptitude.
Recently (well, last December) did a 220km ride from Sydney down to Jervis Bay.
>swag (but really should've taken the tent-- fucking ticks..)
>repair tools + spare tubes
>one 'accessible' water bottle
>one empty 2litre plastic cola bottle that got filled before making camp
>lollies
>gas camping oven, cooking bits, tea/coffee/milk/sugar
>clothes, electronic entertainment, etc.
The route I took meant that access to water was never a problem. I planned for 'dinner' at lunch-- which happened to be the same time I rode through larger towns/cities with Hungry Jacks and supermarkets.
It was the first time I'd done any long riding in 4 years.
