>>872815>>872820After an unusually warm September (went up to 32°C in the middle of the month), October has been very cool so far here but it has yet to drop below +5
Nevertheless I already brought my lemons (seedlings from 21015, no graft - I might experiment with that next year now that they have side shoots I can cut away, but I have no idea where to get Citrus trifoliata seeds from which should make a good rootstock) inside as they don't like it when it's constantly below +13 else they drop leaves (because the roots halt activity while the leaves still evaporate water)
As it's not freezing yet, the bell peppers and most of the tomatoes (especially the volunteers that seem to be very hardy against blight) are not dead yet and are just growing on slowly but steadily which if I'm very lucky might last into December (2014 first frost was on Dec 27, average is Nov 5 though), so at least one upside of our cloudy oceanic climate despite being 50°N
The "everbearing" strawberries aren't really producing anymore though which is kinda disappointing, I guess they got too much stress from the late summer drought (many wilted heavily)
