The T1-size LEDs found in cheaper lights are usually a narrower beam width than a Cree or similar. My LD20 uses the Cree R4, can get it in the Q5 flavor if you want. The color temp and throw are the big difference between them.
Using my flashlight on high power (whiter spot in the far middle), compared to my 55W motorcycle headlight on low (yellower/wider beam).
