After years of park and crown land exploring, I've basically come to understand that the harder it is to get to a particular place, the older and more natural the forests are. I guess that's kind of a no brainer, but it's interesting to see and feel the difference yourself between natural old growth forests, natural regrowths of previously logged forests, and those horrible man-made forests with uniform species of trees planted in rows.
Picrel is the middle kind. It was probably logged in the early-mid 20th century.
