I know a lot of commercial stuff ends up being better, but I like the idea, and value, of surplus equipment. I'm planning on using the USGI canteen/cup to cook in using pic related upgraded lid and stove (plus an additional, 600ml pot). Also have an ALICE pack that I've modified here and there that I plan to make due with until I can upgrade later on. (would rather spend the budget on other items, like a better tent or sleeping bag, etc), and a Flecktarn poncho that I already had as rain gear, since the ALICE hasn't got a rain cover, meaning ill need something bigger than a jacket so I can put it over my bag too.
Is any of this any good? Or am I being retarded for the sake of /k/ autism?
