Is there an easy way to measure the length of line going onto reel? I want to put 100yd of backing on do I need to pre-measure? Do I find how much line is spooled with each turn and count the number of turns? But the the added line will increase the effective diameter of the spool so the amount of line per turn will increase with each turn. Also the spool does not have a constant width, being instead parabolic(see picrel). I would need to model the layering of new line on the spool to get an accurate differential of effective diameter. Is there an easier way to calculate this? I have autism btw.
