How do you guys cover your costs running a homestead? What sort of income sources do you have set up?
I currently have a day-job, but then again my "homestead" is still just a backyard thing.

They're it a double-enclosed run and there really isn't anything particularly nasty that can get to them. I just have to worry about cats and mice.
I'm planning on hatching some more, though desu I've never done anything like this before.
They're mostly for eggs, we're a very egg-heavy family. I know a guy who raises them for meat to feed his family, but that guy has ~200 chicks/chickens at a time if memory serves, it's a big operation.
