But the sun at 50°N is very low, weak and short during Oct/Nov and temps hovering around 10°C, so while the plant still lives at that point, (if not screwed by blight thanks to the high autumn humidity), there's barely any growth or ripening by then - you can't compare a late June 16.5h 30°C growth day to a December 8h 5°C one. So if I were to start from seeds just now, it'd probably be a mini harvest in one September week at best, when using cherry tomatoes (in fact I started indoors in February, planted out late March, and expecting first pick late June for cherry and mid-July for the bigger ones)
