after you get your RPF license in california you will be making a minimum of $75k/yr. cali is pretty much the only place where you will be making any sort of money, and where there is any sort of skill or thought that goes into the job.
forest service/blm is shit, go private timber if you want to stay in the industry, elsewise go the fire route and accept that your body will start failing you at the age of 30
