I've just gotten into wild camping (which is already illegal in and of itself), but I'm wondering with regards to the rod license, if I was to try fishing in fresh water using just a tackle like I'm some post-apocalyptic hobo, is that illegal (since the wording of the law seems to imply it only applies to using rods)?
Never been fishing before in my life, and it'd be something neat to fanny on with and kill a few hours of the day with (can't imagine a tackle alone is going to be particularly effective), without having to invest in a rod, working out how to use it, paying for a license, carrying it with me into the woodland, etc.
Ofcourse I'm already breaking the law and I'll be in the middle of nowhere hopefully (as close to nowhere as you can get in high pop density england), so maybe I'm worrying about nothing, but I'd still like to know.
