I have to add iron to my plants quite often due to iron deficiencies cause by the high ph, and a way of lowering the ph of water (and soil) is by adding citric acid or vinegar (this last one is a home remedy).
The problem is that i don't know if the soil gets more and more acid or if that's fucking retarded (be it because the vinegar is 6º and subsequently it cannot get more acid than that or because the effects dissapear after a day or so due to evaporation)
