I just bought my first baitcaster.
I've been using a spinning reel for 15 years now, but got the urge to try this out.
>thanks to my co-worker coaxing me to try it out
>promised me that once I master a baitcaster, I never want to go back
Abu Garcia Blackmax 3
The rod I bought for it, is a stiff 7 foot berkeley e-motion casting rod.
>I've got some pike on my sights
I use monofilament line as the base and braided as my main line, pull weight on both is about 40lbs.
>the whole package cost me about 130$
Cant wait to make a crows nest out of my line tomorrow as I learn to cast again.
I've been trying to google beginner tips for baitcasters, and I've got mixed results, should I put the spool drag to the maximum setting or not when I try to learn this exciting new toy?
