Shot a buck today with my 357 levergat. Bullet hit a young tree of about 2 inch diameter. Went through the tree and then hit the deer. Due to having hit the tree the bullet lost a lot of energy so the hit was marginal even tho the placement is likely ok. Pic rel is the last good blood I got. After this it starts to get thin down to single drops where I lost the trail. It was about 200yds of tracking. I waited about 2 hrs before starting the track job but I think he might still have been alive and I may have bumped him. Blood looks like I clipped a lung due to the bubbles. Gave it up after noon, gonna go try and find him in the morning I'm sure he's dead by now.
