As a cattleman I feel like I need to interject here. Grass raised, hormone/antibiotic free beef brings a premium price but is difficult to raise and it's often a saturated market so there's a risk that you might wind up taking them to auction instead of selling them direct to a buyer. At auction you get lowballed (remember that managing a range that beeves can be supported by without additional feed is difficult and takes a lot of area per cow to produce meat that is marbled to American standards) so there isn't a lot of money involved. Contracts with feedlots are the way to go if you want to (lol) make money in the cattle business. That being said raising cattle like that will tear up your land.
