And yes it is dictated by strength and technique, as you will need strength to hold it, and technique to keep your arrow in place as to not continually have to pull it back to fire in your desired direction, and I would say you kind of don’t know how to tell you desired draw weight. Its way different than compound, don’t under estimate the endurance it takes to keep your bow steady. Thats the difference with compounds, you would probably have no problem pulling back a 70+ pound compound, but a 70+ lb recurve is almost a herculean feat. Goodluck!
