>>483584k well I'll lay out what I know.
the overall route begins at a place called sunwapta falls which is about 55km south of Jasper. (A) this is more or less a tourist spot and the start of the trailhead
(B) is the athabasca river crossing point. There was a suspension bridge that was knocked out late last year in runoff and we'd have to ford this thing. I'm hoping 1st week of june will still be before run off hits. As a back up there is a camp site before the bridge and one about half way from sunwapta falls too. My plan is if it is crossable then to tie a rope across in case it gets unsafe for the return trip. I will post pics of pre/post run off levels and the state of the bridge
(C) crossing at the Chaba river. Glacier fed and wide and shallow generally. This river is usually the point that people have trouble with mostly because of the freezing temperatures. Apparently with proper wading gear it isn't so bad.
(D) 1st camp site. This is where I intend to make base camp. There is a float plane camp farther up but most people camp here. The is an outhouse and apparently people have left basic tools such as a maul.
My game plan is essentially to camp out here and fish each day. The fish get damn big here so I'm hoping to supplement the food brought in with brook trout. There is also a creek that can be hiked up but not fished nearby. I plan to bring a small inflatable and fish along the shore and creek inlets.
