So this thread may get deleted for being off-topic, but I thought it was time we, as a board, take inventory, and propose a few things for continued enjoyment of the board and cohesion of board culture.
Agenda:
>1, Board preferences.
On /o/, all the motorcycle riders seem to like sportbikes. On /k/, everybody seems to like mosin nagants. On /p/, everybody has a $2000 Canon 5DmkII. None of these are absolutely true generalizations, but there's some truth to be found. What do we like? If another online outdoors community were to refer to /out/ as tending to prefer a certain type of gear or activity, what would it be?
>2. Threads that are welcome, threads that aren't welcome, and what to do about it.
On /a/, when they get an anime recommendation thread, they just say Boku no Pico. On /an/, when they get a spider identification thread, they simply say that it's a brown recluse. /g/ has a headphone chart. Do we want some stupid canned answer for the many superfluous knife threads here?
>3. Names for the different kinds of posters.
There are a lot of types of posters here. For instance, someone who paid more for his Patagucci and Arc'Teryx gear than the total sum of all the gasoline to get to all the outdoor destinations he's ever been to. For instance, the lost /k/ommando who isn't aware that there are a lot of hippies here and unwittingly posts about army surplus gear. For instance, the 2serious4u LNT camper who never makes a fire and picks up all the litter he finds on the trail, and shits in a ziploc bag. Please don't turn this into a flamewar. I want to create these nicknakes purely for humor.
>4. Original content.
Do we have any reaction images yet? Have we been contributing OC to the "stories" threads? OC pictures to the photos threads? Have people made their own infographics specific to this board yet? If not, it's something to keep in mind. What makes /out/ /out/?
5. Anything I didn't mention?
