Dude. Hit up Door County Wisconsin. Go to Gills Rock and Ellison Bay. Hike Peninsula State Park, Ellison Bay Bluffs, and any other parks that look good to you. It's seriously worth hitting up.

Door Peninsula is cozy as fuck. Nicolet National Forest is also REALLY sick. Cathedral Pine State Forest is incredible. It's on the way to northern Michigan too.

I've already done Door County. I tried Kettle Moraine southern unit a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty cool.

Devil's lake looks really touristy and boring. I heard that there's some cool spots south of La Crosse on the Mississippi.

Anyone have some good Wisconsin /out/ experiences?

I'm going hiking by myself in a secluded forest preserve in Wisconsin this week. I'll be hiking alone for about 3 hours.

Is it safe to hike in a secluded rural area alone? I don't know of any dangerous wildlife in the area, but I always get paranoid about going to desolate locations alone.
