I usually didn't set off into a storm if I was somewhere dry and I'd wait it out. However, if it started raining while I was already hiking I would just keep going. Once you are wet it doesn't really matter if it is raining. You sort of just get used to your shit being wet most of the time.
Hiked threw some crazy storms up on bald mountain tops though. That was always intense and really exhilarating.
