I don't want to lob an axe around.
I need a light hatchet, ideally a Tomahawk head well under a pound that I can quickly attach to a handle from below (Indian style) in the field. It should split and even cut down a tree in a pinch, but it will mainly be a tool for carving and primitive carpentry.
So:
> Large radius on the blade, more straight than most 'hawks, convex blade profile
>Thin long blade that widens to a wedge around the slightly oval handle
> Pronounced lower beard for carving
> Hammer on the reverse
Any thoughts?
Autine unrelated. Their shapes are good for their purpose (those are heavy). But their quality really lacks for any price range, especially theirs.
