>>231506Here's an update for those that have been following along.
It has been -10F here many nights in a row, with completely overcast days, and it wrecked a lot of the plants in the tunnel. I think they would have done better had one of the heaters not died without me knowing about it until it was too late. To top it off, the last 2-3 surviving tomato plants have a really wicked aphid infestation.
Basically, all but 2-3 tomato plants have died and most of the tunnel is not unused. I need to install a better heating system and have better air flow.
The tomato plants were unexpected volunteers and this whole thing was an experiment. There are no failures, just knowledge and experienced gained. It is also fun. I'll be tearing out the dead plants, taking out the bottles, tilling up the soil, and planting colder weather plants in it like listed in
>>228360I already have several garlic plants that seem to be doing rather well in the tunnel. Though, they could use a bit more light I think.
>>232984I was able to install some heating in the coop last week and already the hens that stopped laying are starting to lay again. I'll soon be overflowing with eggs again. I foresee lots of egg noodles in my future.
