Buy a unissued one. Wax it when you get it, and make/buy a blast belt. On the 3 day camp in the pic I went without and it wasn't an end game but comfort is preferable.
tbqh modern £100 hi-tech low weight packs are better, but alot of hiking distance is moral and the aesthetic keeps me happy enough for it to be worth it.
