Went to MEC and bought a bunch of stuff for a planned /trv/ style backpacking trip.
- 30-40L pack; I already have a 65L expedition pack like everyone seems to take hosteling (that I use for /out/door stuff) but fuck if I can figure why anyone would need that much without a tent/bag/mat
- A bunch of travel clothing; quick trying, zipped pockets, etc.
- Light vented wind breaking shell (a waterproof breathable shell would be to big/heavy, better off with an umbrella I figure)
Still need to buy:
- Light hiking shoes, looking at some Salomon and Merrell pairs. Undecided whether I want GTX lined (potentially too hot in HOT weather) but I'm leaning that way
- Need to buy a usb battery pack, for charging shit on the go (ecigs, ebook reader, ipod); unsure about capacity
- Actually having trouble finding a little compass I like
